Mrs K Ridgway

K Ridgway, BA (Hons), PGCE

Vice Principal

Mrs Ridgway studied English Language at the University of Sussex, before going on to complete a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education at the University of Chichester. She taught English at St Andrew’s C.E School for Boys in Worthing for five years and during this time secured the Advanced Skills Teacher qualification and was seconded for a day a week to work for the advisor team at West Sussex County Council. This role involved supporting English departments in challenging schools to make rapid improvements in both the quality of teaching and their results. It is this passion for teacher training that led her to lead three international trips to India where she delivered teacher training sessions and taught English. Mrs Ridgway joined The Littlehampton Academy in September 2011 as Subject Leader for English and was appointed as an Assistant Principal in September 2016. In January 2019 she was appointed as Vice Principal for achievement and standards.

Mrs Ridgway loves travelling and spending time with her family. She enjoys finding time to play the piano and leads a gospel choir. She also loves to cook and enjoys eating out in Brighton where she lives. It goes without saying that, as an English teacher, she loves to read and particularly enjoys Nordic Noir novels.
