The end of Year 11 was marked on Friday in a final celebration assembly. Academic awards will be given out at the Whole Academy Awards evening on 12 July 2021 and separate invitations will be sent out to you later this term.

We also said our goodbyes to the Year 13 students, marking the occasion with a celebration barbeque.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our Year 11 and Year 13 students the very best of luck in their exams. I wish them all every success.

Year 11 Public Exams Warm-up Programme
Before each exam, 'warm-up' sessions will be held in the library. These sessions last for 20 minutes. Morning 'warm-up' sessions will start at 8:10am and afternoon sessions will start at 12:30pm. Whilst these sessions are not compulsory, please encourage your child to make the most of this opportunity. The timetable can be found here

Evening of Dance
I would like to say a huge thank you and very well done to all the students who were involved in this fantastic event last week. A special thank you must also go to Ms Hauxwell for organising the event.

Young Enterprise Group
The company Tote-ally OK was formed by TLA students in January and the students decided early on that they wanted to promote conversation and awareness around mental health issues in young people; they felt there was a lack of understanding, and still too much taboo involved. They also decided to donate a percentage of their profits to mental health charities. The brief also meant that any products they produced had to be sustainable, so research was done into the materials used.

The group have been meeting every week - they have launched their own Tote bag design, using their own logo, using hashtags for their message.

They recently attended the West Sussex showcase event, held at the Body Shop headquarters in Littlehampton. They presented their ideas to an independent judging panel and there was some very stiff competition. The group picked up two awards, that of finalist for the area, and for the best marketing. The judges were very impressed with the mental health concept.

Well done to all the students involved and to Mrs Brown for overseeing our Young Enterprise students.
