National Covid Vaccination Programme for 12-15 year olds

The Sussex 0-19 Immunisation Service will be coming to the academy on 9th November as part of the national programme to vaccinate 12-15 year olds.

This has been arranged on the same date as we are currently offering the flu vaccination, to minimise the disruption to school days. This is in line with guidance of the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) that states that the COVID vaccine can be given alongside other vaccines.

If your child will be aged between 12 and 15 on 9th November, you will be sent a letter asking you to give consent for the vaccination to take place plus a Frequently Asked Questions document. Copies of these can be found below.

If you do not give consent the your child will not be vaccinated.

As this is on the same day as the flu vaccinations it is important that if you want your child to have both that you complete both consent forms that have been sent, as care will obviously be taken on the day to ensure that any child where there is only consent for one or other of the vaccines only receives the appropriate treatment.

Anyone aged 16 or over can get vaccinated at a standard walk-in clinic.
