This is delivered one lesson per fortnight to all year groups, during tutor time and during the weekly whole academy and year assemblies.

Modern Foreign Languages

Students choose to study French or Spanish before they start Year 7 as part of the transition process. They study that language through to the end of Year 11. Some students in Key Stage 3 have numeracy and literacy catch-up provision instead of studying a language.

Physical Education (PE)

In Year 7 the PE curriculum is delivered in ‘Inspiring Healthy Futures’ where 5 lessons per fortnight are PE and 2 lessons per fortnight feature cooking, nutrition, well-being and healthy lifestyles. In Year 8 and 9, the PE curriculum is delivered in ‘Inspiring Healthy Futures’ where 4 lessons per fortnight are PE and 1 lesson per fortnight feature cooking, nutrition, well-being and healthy lifestyles.

TLA Pedagogy

The big picture of TLA pedagogy is TEEP. All of our lessons are planned using the TEEP cycle and this is explicit within lessons.
