M P Thomas, BSc (Hons), PGCE (Cantab)


Mr Thomas has a keen interest in the natural world and studied geography at the University of London, before going on to complete a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education at the University of Cambridge. He taught at Haydon School in London for five years before moving back to West Sussex to join The Weald School, Billingshurst, where he undertook various roles including Head of Year, Head of Sixth Form and Assistant Headteacher. Mr Thomas joined The Littlehampton Academy in January 2014 as Vice Principal, before accepting the position of Principal in April 2016. He has been a senior leader in schools for more than ten years.

Mr Thomas was a keen rugby player for more than 20 years and gained his colours for Queens’ College, Cambridge. These days, he has to make do with coaching and refereeing and is a passionate fan of the Welsh rugby team. Mr Thomas now tries to keep fit by mountain-biking and sea kayaking. He is an avid reader and particularly enjoys novels that cover major events in history, for example the Viking conquests, the Tudor period and the Cold War.
